Who We Are
PEPY Empowering Youth is a local non-profit and NGO providing personal and professional development training to rural youth in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We are a team led by local Cambodians dedicated to helping youth identify their dreams and find pathways to success. Starting at the high school level, our interwoven programs provide holistic support for young students to have the tools, network, and resources to succeed in school and thrive in the professional setting of their choice.
Dream Management Program
An elective course run in partnership with local teachers covering goal setting classes, mentorship, and networking for rural high school students.
Providing tuition, healthcare, mentorship, living allowance, and skills training to financially disadvantaged but ambitious rural youth.
Learning Center Program
One year program with context-based training in English, ICT, and soft skills for youth to excel in the current job market.
Learning Center’s Youth Leaders in Action Project
The Learning Center’s English, ICT, and Youth Empowerment Projects culminate into the Youth Leaders in Action Project where youths take course content from theoretically to practical. In early 2020, youth groups were given training and workshops to design and implement business and community development initiatives. In 2020-2021, youth groups will apply their skills from the Learning Center to conduct research and advocacy projects.
Future is Bright Computer Lab & Club
One of youths’ greatest barriers to ICT education and technical job training is limited exposure and access to computers. COVID-19 has greatly impacted Siem Reap’s economy which is primarily dependent on tourism. This lab will enable youth to use computers, PEPY developed ICT training materials, and online courses on their terms, for them to diversify their skills and qualify for more positions both online and in Cambodia.
Youth Creators & Innovators Incubator
PEPY team and youth envision a future where they are enabled to not only be job seekers, but job creators! COVID-19 has greatly exacerbated this need, as the Siem Reap community is looking to diversify its industries and employment opportunities away from tourism and hospitality. The incubator will provide the necessary professional skills training, resources, and coaching for youth to launch successful start-ups in 2021.
